Purpose

This platform allows you to report Seagrass Rhizome sightings, monitor oceanographic & meteorological data which influences Rhizome beachings. Your help is very much appreciated to assist with Innoceana's seagrass restoration project.

Background

Every day about 2 x football fields of seagrass get destroyed. Seagrass is a very important food source for green turtles, many fish and other ocean dwellers. It is difficult to restore seagrass meadows. Stranded or beached seagrass Rhizomes are the easiest way to regrow seagrass. Many thanks for helping us to find, collect and replant seagrass Rhizomes.
